Welcome to the Matamata Camera Club.
The Matamata Camera Club meets on the second Tuesday of every month and anyone considering joining is most welcome to attend. These meetings are a fairly informal gathering of like minded individuals who get the maximum enjoyment out of their chosen hobby.
The club was originally established in the early 60′s, and after a hiatus of several years was reformed at the beginning of 2001 with Sam Harris as president.
We often have over thrity attendees from as far as Tokoroa and Hamilton at our meeetings, all from diverse backgrounds but with one thing in common – a love of photography. What we lack in size we make up for in enthusiasm, and new members will be warmly welcomed to our ranks. All photographic mediums are catered for, so whether you shoot film, or digital, colour, or black & white, you are sure to find a fellow enthusiast at the club.
Our aim is both enjoy socialising with fellow photographers and to promote photography as an art form. To this end we have competitions on a chosen theme at our monthly meetings, to encourage new and innovative ideas.
So if you have a film camera gathering dust in the cupboard, or if you have just bought the latest digital and need help figuring out its finer details, you’re bound to find someone at the MCC who can help you.
Meeting of the Matamata Camera Club are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the Matamata Senior Citizens Hall, 99 Arawa Street, Matamata. New members and vistors are always most welcome.
